This is an all skate!

How many of you have the childhood/teenage memories of endless laps around the skating rink, sharing a slushy with your bestie or childhood sweetheart? I do!

When I heard about an adult 80's skate at Bonin's Roller Rink, I had to go! I was able to pull together an outfit consisting of my vintage Poison T-shirt, some acid-washed jeans, Prom Promise hat, Umbro jacket, and Kangaroo sneakers (anyone else get your lunch money stuck in the pocket?) and was off to the rink!


Stepping through the doors was like being transported back in time. Not much had changed. There were video games to play and the disco ball was lit!





I found myself sitting back and smiling as an older couple glided around the rink holding hands, effortless in their rhythm. It was heart warming and I thought, life goals! Maybe not to be skating with my husband, but just to be happy in each other's company... doing something we enjoy! May we all have that connection with someone at some point in our lives. It truly was a beautiful sight.

I heard that adult skating may be added to the rink's lineup. Be on the lookout if you are a skater!!

A softball State of mind

A weekend ago a couple friends and I hopped in their truck and decided to drive to Happy Valley. Our destination, a Penn State softball game. I mean, how could you not be happy going to watch a Big 10 softball match up on a beautiful sunny day. We arrived on the campus, and I first noticed the aftermath of the Blue and White game. All of the grassy areas showed the effect of the many who were there the day before watching Penn State Football. After driving around a bit we finally found a spot to park and we were ready to enjoy the sun and a game. The Lady Lions were gearing up to sweep the series against  Rutgers. The Wait is over

 I am excited to finally announce  Thinking of You  is now available on Amazon for purchase!!! Four prints from this book are still on display at  The Keystone Theater  until May 5th and are available for purchase. When you receive a postcard or card from a loved one, your soul resonates with happiness. I think of them as glimmers of love… and I have always been a fan of sending them to my friends. Even though wifi has  increased the speed of communication, and social media makes   connecting or reconnecting with friends easier than ever, the postal  service remains my favorite courier of happiness.   This photo was taken at sunrise in Cincinnati.

Postcard Project

 I enjoy sending mail. A few years ago, when the world shut down, I began sending postcards as a way to let people know that I was thinking of them. To send them a little bit of positivity in a crazy situation. I had bins of photos (literally thousands) and I began making them into postcards and pairing those with inspirational quotes. I wanted these to be a beacon of light. When my supplies ran out (it took 3 years for that to happen) I began to order more supplies to keep the mail sprinklings going, my mailing list grew.  I have decided to publish a book based on my postcards. Over the last month I have been working on this and it is nearing completion. Cover reveal will be coming soon!!! The idea has been in my thoughts for a few years, but I have now decided to make it happen. I have learned a new program (InDesign by Adobe) that has been fun to work with on a design level.
