No Bluffing

This isn't the begginning of post about April Fool's day. That's no bluffing. On a random nice Saturday in March a road trip was in order. The sun was shining, I collected some good company and hit the streets. Driving a couple hours, we landed at Chimney Bluffs State Park and were ready for adventure. Being March and having rained, we figured the trails would be a little bit muddy...
Some places were like little ponds while others looked like a flat out obstacle course for trucks and ATV's. We tried our best to navigate around the muddy spots, but part way through, it was realized to be a lost cause. My sneakers are still covered in mud. The view, would be worth it.
Passing mile markers and friendly hikers with their furry friends enjoying the fresh air, the view unfolded!! The clouds were moody at times, beautiful always.
While enjoying the beautiful scenery, small droplets began to fall. Then they became harder and larger. A couple went by and mentioned that they checked the radar and it was heading our way. Not knowing exactly how far back to the car it would be, it was decided already wet and muddy, so let's enjoy the view...
After taking in the scenics for a bit it was decided to go and grab some food. We found a place called Skipper's Landing where the menu boasted of "new" spinanch and artichoke dip. The homeade chips were amazing. The lobster bisque soup was some of the best I have ever had. Unlike me; I didn't snag any photos of the food. You will have to take my word for it. On the return trip a few vintage cars caught my eye and I sharp turned in to check it out. A fun whimsical, unique collection of fun!
My camera and I could have hung out here all day taking photos of all the cool things. There was also a random goat running around, but when I walked around it ran away from me. So no cute goat photos. The sun was beginning to dim and so the journey ventured on. Passing through Ithaca it was decided to make one more stop at the overlook at Taughannock Falls.
Much beauty surrounds our area and road trips to find these gems make my little heart smile bright. Be sure to get out on an adventure, no matter how far or close!! Visit my fine art gallery or follow me on Facebook.
