Hummingbirds

Image
I believe I attempt some hummingbird photos every year. I love to watch them flit about. They are beautiful and graceful and can be a little aggressive. This year we added a new feeder to our yard and they seem to like it better. It has a little perch so they may sit while they feed. I can understand why they would want to take a load off as their wings beat so rapidly. I am not going to be to verbose about this post, just share some info and photos. Enjoy!  They are fast little creatures and I give credit to all those who capture these amazing photos!! Cherry Blossom Bucket List

Image
Any of you who have been reading my ramblings (thank you for that) may know about my bucket list photo destination to Washington DC to capture the cherry blossoms. For the past, I believe now, five years I have made attempts to be at the right place at the right time to capture said cherry blossoms. They are delicate and their bloom time , depending on weather can be a small window. I have been to late and to early, but not this year! This year my cherry blossom mission is checked off my photo bucket list. This isn't to say I won't try to see their splendor yet again, but I FINALLY can mark it off my list. I began this year as usual. Monitoring closely the cherry blossom forums. Checking dates, looking at my work schedule and hoping, fingers crossed to be able to make it. I was excited to  hear of the peak dates being April 6th weekend as I was scheduled to be off work. My dreams were finally going to be realized.... then the weather turned and the peak bloom was shifted

Wild Goose Chase

A road trip with one of my favorite fellow photographers formulated a couple weekends ago when she texted me and said hey, do you want to drive a couple hours and see 20,000 geese? I am not nearly the birder that she is, but anything with photography will do in my eyes! I have actually just acquired some  new gear and was itching to give it a try. So, we loaded up gear and met in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. After grabbing some goodies for the road we were on our way!! The maple Snickers was DELICIOUS!   We arrived at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area and were ready to photograph!! Grabbing our gear and setting off to see what we would discover, I was surprised by the amount of dogs on the trails. I thought with all the birds this would not be allowed. Awesomely enough, this place is dog friendly as long as on a leash! This little cutie was one of many doggies on the trails. It wasn't long before we were hearing and seeing tundra swan, snow geese and other subj
