Kitchen sink ice

Image
It's been quite some time since I have shared some eye candy and I do apologize for that. Life can get busy at times, I'm sure you all understand. That being said I have been trying to get into the festive holiday spirit. Tree and decorations have been spread around the living quarters with care, and I have been taking note of the beauty in it all. As I walked through the kitchen I noticed how the outside holiday lights were back-lighting the ice formations in the window. I don't think I did them justice but here are some shots of those formations along with some cuteness. Honoring Veterans

Image
I had the privilege of taking part in welcoming Veterans home after an Honor Flight . I had never been to, or even heard of an honor flight until I saw a post on Facebook about one happening at the Binghamton Airport. After some research I found out that an honor flight takes Veterans to Washington so see the memorials and then on their return flight they are welcomed back with cheers, gratitude and appreciation for their sacrifices during their time of service. The hangar was filled with raw emotion from the veterans and all of those, young and old, who turned out to show their support and thanks to these veterans. Here are some photos from the days event. Thanks to all those men who sacrificed so much for this country! Softball Making History

I have been a sports fan since I can remember. I grew up playing pee-wee and little league baseball. Warren Center Little League West Warren Little League I can remember watching the New York Yankees games with my Grandparents. My mom always supported my playing sports, even though she didn't always understand the game. She even helped by coaching 3rd base in my younger days. We rarely listened to her, yet she was there waving us on or holding up the stop signal. My gram on the other hand was well versed in the game, and I recall her having words with umpires. Now I think back on it and laugh. She used to ask if they needed her glasses. I played ball my senior year of high school, a couple years of college ball and now I play recreational ball. Playing now in the City of Binghamton Leagues When I was in little league I remember dreaming of playing in the big leagues as most yo

Autumn Inspiration

Image
I simply love fall. The beautiful colors, the leaves crunching under my feet, the smell, all spark my senses and inspire me to want to be outside enjoying the moments of fall. It's a great season to be out hiking and embracing what's in front of us. I don't, however, tend to love what follows autumn. So here are some images to help you love fall as much as I do. Doo-Dah, Doo-Dah

My Gram was a part of the Camptown community for many years before coming to live with my family, so going to the Camptown Races was just something we always did. I remember as a kid (and young adult) piling into the car and going to my gram's to set up our lawn chairs at her house on 409 to see the runners. We would go to the start line to watch them take off, wander around the various vendors and then get a chicken dinner with some dessert before heading back to take our place in our lawn chairs. We would wait and make guesses on how long before the 1st runner would come through and when would the first female pass by. As the runners filed by we would cheer and offer encouragement. This year marked the 50th running of the Camptown races and I was excited to be able to photograph this event. I loaded up my photo gear and my mountain bike so I could get some shots from the trails. I arrived in Camptown, and the tent was a bustle of activity as runners were registering and wa
