Sunflower Smiles

There is something about sunflowers that make me smile inside. Maybe it's the bright yellow warmth they exude, maybe it's how large in life they seem to me, maybe it's because my mom is such a green thumb and hers look so beautiful, whatever the case is I do enjoy the presence of sunflowers.

Bees also enjoy sunflowers.
They can grow tall, have many great uses and growing them can be a fun filled activity for children. 

 Sunflowers inspire many, even famous artist, Vincent Van Gogh.

You can visit Roba Family Orchard which has three acres and twenty five different varieties of sunflowers. You may even cut one to take home! Wash your car and visit a sunflower field in Elverson, PA. In Peconic, New York sample wine and explore a sunflower field. This place may need to be on my next adventure list. Try a farm experience at Sunflower Valley Farm complete with petting zoo, photo ops and more. I am ready to pack up my gear right now and take a sunflower excursion!!!

If you were a ball player at any point in time like me, you have without a doubt chewed on sunflower seeds. Did you know that there are many health benefits such as cardiovascular and mood?

A softball State of mind

A weekend ago a couple friends and I hopped in their truck and decided to drive to Happy Valley. Our destination, a Penn State softball game. I mean, how could you not be happy going to watch a Big 10 softball match up on a beautiful sunny day. We arrived on the campus, and I first noticed the aftermath of the Blue and White game. All of the grassy areas showed the effect of the many who were there the day before watching Penn State Football. After driving around a bit we finally found a spot to park and we were ready to enjoy the sun and a game. The Lady Lions were gearing up to sweep the series against  Rutgers. The Wait is over

 I am excited to finally announce  Thinking of You  is now available on Amazon for purchase!!! Four prints from this book are still on display at  The Keystone Theater  until May 5th and are available for purchase. When you receive a postcard or card from a loved one, your soul resonates with happiness. I think of them as glimmers of love… and I have always been a fan of sending them to my friends. Even though wifi has  increased the speed of communication, and social media makes   connecting or reconnecting with friends easier than ever, the postal  service remains my favorite courier of happiness.   This photo was taken at sunrise in Cincinnati.

Postcard Project

 I enjoy sending mail. A few years ago, when the world shut down, I began sending postcards as a way to let people know that I was thinking of them. To send them a little bit of positivity in a crazy situation. I had bins of photos (literally thousands) and I began making them into postcards and pairing those with inspirational quotes. I wanted these to be a beacon of light. When my supplies ran out (it took 3 years for that to happen) I began to order more supplies to keep the mail sprinklings going, my mailing list grew.  I have decided to publish a book based on my postcards. Over the last month I have been working on this and it is nearing completion. Cover reveal will be coming soon!!! The idea has been in my thoughts for a few years, but I have now decided to make it happen. I have learned a new program (InDesign by Adobe) that has been fun to work with on a design level.
